hello,

i have a 3ware 9650se raid card that has 2x2tb wd drives attached to it.
my problem is that if i do a fresh power on the card will initialize and work fine except when i come back to the machine a few hours later the raid doesnt show (windows 7); the card still shows but not the raid

if i reboot it doesnt initialize and thus doesnt show up. the only way to get it back appears to be to do full shutdown and power back on

i have checked sleep settings and dont think this is the issue.

any thoughts?

i should add this was working fine on a previous machine (asus p8z77-v le) but now with the new system (msi b85m-p33) i am having the above issue

also should add that if i reinstall the driver in windows the raid appears to come back.

this leads me to believe that the card is actually going through initialization during power on/restart but for some reason the drives dont show up.

I would guess there is something in the power management of your mainboard/windows that confuses the RAID adapter.

I suggest you disable every power saving option you can find in windows, and then check if the problem persists.

changing power settings seems to correct issue; however if doing restart i still need to refresh driver before the raid appears.
