Anyone know of any rack chasis that are only 16" deep preferably 3u that can use ATX boards, with full pci cards and power supplies? trying to setup a computer in a pro audio road rack, for a mobile recording setup with a Presonus Firepod, so if i can find a 3u I can put the 3u and the 1u firepod in a 4u road rack and pop it on top of my bass gear's rack. will go 4 if thats all there is and just buy a 6u case.

Google for "3U Audio Instrument Prototype Rackmount Case 10-19145G"...

I bought one of these a while back. Build quality was very nice. Just be aware that you will have to do some cutting and whatnot to properly mount your mobo and stuff in there. They have all different depth enclosures ranging from like 8" to full depth.

If that doesn't work for you try protocase.com but be ready to pay $$$ there...

Another alternative is to get a regular depth 3U rackmount and cut it down. I've done this to a 2u and 4u case. I've got a welder so it was easy to cut down and put the pieces back together.

thats awesome, I even looked on newegg and didnt find em :/ that 3u will work perfect for my project.

you can find those same cases on ebay and get bing CB for them and no sales tax
