Shouldnt the 3tb drives be down to $100 yet? and when is our supposed 2011 4tb drive suppose to be released, that would definitely drop it quicker ... i bet they are holding out to sell off a bunch of 1 and 2 tb. I heard samsung and hitatchi were both ready to release one. Albeit unstable as Seagate's 1tb im sure.
 
Prices don't go where you think it should go, it goes based on what companies think people are willing to pay for them.
 
They are coming close. You can them on deals for 105-120ish. Which makes them buy candidates if you ask me. Cost per GB is only slightly more than a 2TB but you're getting more space and faster throughput at any given head position, per drive.
