3DMark2K5 1.1 patch/hotfix out

Exactly, I'm not saying ATi's only getting performance increases. But it comes down to is 3dmark05 doesn't have any bearing on futrue games.
Certainly not since nvidia is doing so well in the source benchmarks, and how the FX 5XXX series does so well in 3dmark 05 and they do just as well in source :D

It can give relative performance differences, but you have to look back and see that the fx line in most games don't have the partial precision issues as they once had. Look at all the differences nV has done with the newer drivers they actually removed optimizations they had in place before.

Remove for what cards?

The fx line, didn't know that did you? Thats why if you look at Far Cry now they got hit hard after the 1.2 patch. This leads me to believe they weren't even doing fp 16 before and at least they are doing it now.

Perhaps far cry broke their application detection??

patch already? lol. i suppose it needs it urgently cos 3dmark05 was mega inaccurate.. at least for me. http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=814359
haha i dont think 2.8mg patch is going to fix ALL the problem 3dmark05 has.. whens 1.2 patch comin out, next week?

anyone actually bought this bs benchmark? they'll have to put a gun to my face to make me pay for this bs.

It was not lol, even Crytek acknowledged that the banding will be removed :D

Also try Doom 3 on a geforce fx with very old drivers 50 drivers it too has banding. I noticed the banding in Doom 3 in the alpha leak of Doom 3. Its not there anymore. I can understand if it was 1 game and one game only, but thats two games, with a game that nV should be doing very close to ATi (Doom 3) that it was there.

And the banding for Far Cry was on the nV gf 6 line of cards with thier first 2 60 drivers.

I have better things to do then to spend time investigating 3DMark05, things that actually mean something to gamers.

I don't bash Futuremark, and I never said I didn't like 3DMark05. In fact you will find posts by me in the last few days explaining how much I do enjoy it as a 3D demo. The graphics are very pretty, and I would really like games in the future to have graphics of that level, it really is a very solid 3D demonstration of 3D graphics.

But an evaluator of game performance produced by a video card it is not.

Fair enough. ;)
