I have my q6600 at 3.2 GHz now, and I'm scoring 10470 in 3dmark06. At stock I scored 10070..........Is this increase normal? I thought I will go higer than this!

I have the 8800 GTS 320 MB

well as you only increased CPU yes this score is okay, have you comapred your score with the others in the orb ?, Also take into account your gfx card will prolly be the bottleneck... how did the scores increase ? You only got a boost in CPU score and a small one in the gfx department ?

Okay I see. You are right. However, i'm still worried. When I ran pcmark05, I got 9081. The fastest similar system scored 16152, 2nd fastest is about 14000. Why so? They also have my q6600 and the same 8800 GTS 320 card.

My hardware list is actually superior! My HDD- XP startup is 9 MB/s

where the fastest scored 128 MB/s

Why?#^&#$%^#? My boot drive is the Hitachi 7k1000 drive which is close to the raptor in performance. their's drive are older Maxtor 6B200M0 200 GB drives.

I'm puzzled

Because those systems will be overclocked on dry ice/liquid nitrogen etc. and maybe it could be an SLI system too

You can actually see the overclocked freguency. Not much higher than mine.

SLI?? Why would they consider them to be similar then?

I have an 8800GTS 320MB and a e4400 @ 3GHz. My 3DMark06 score was 9100. I think your score is normal.

I have my Q6600 OC to 3.0ghz and 8800gts 320. My first 3dmark 06 test resulted in a score of about 12460, second test lowered a little to about 11780 but that might be because of the additional apps I installed. 8800gts is overclocked to 626/999, yea I think you should be getting a little higher core unless you didn't overclock your card.

If you've only overclocked the CPU and are wondering about the increase, just look at the score breakdown. Your CPU score should have increased.

Anyway, if you're trying for a decent 3DMark score you need to overclock both the GPU and CPU, especially as increases in GPU speed really increase your score..

I have a q6600, I ran 3dmark06 at stock 2.4 and I scored like 11500 and then I over clocked it to 2.9ghz and I got 13000 this is with a stock nx8800 ultra. I'm new at this so I don't know how to overclock the 8800 under vista 64, anybody could help me please?

Sagan, Google nTune and download that. As for sram's scores, they are right on where they should be, an overclocked GTS 320 amd Q6600 gets about 12600-12700 (in my expierience).

When Vista boots up, press F8 and select the option to turn off driver signatures. Use Rivatuner to find a stable overclock.

Once I find a decent stable overclock, to make the change permanent so you don't need to worry about driver signatures, I use NiBiTor and nvFlash to flash the BIOS. (although if all you're overclocking for is benching, just keep using rivatuner.)

p.s. for an overclocked 8800GTX running on a moderately overclocked Q6600, you'll get around 14,000+ under Vista 64. As the GTX is a more powerful card than the GTS, I suppose over 10k for a non-overclocked GTS is not unreasonable.

I have the same drive, they were probably using raid 0. For a reference I scored 9800 or so on pcmark at 3.2, and about 11000 or so at 3.5, so you are about right.
