My CPU only scored 1810 on the 3Dmark06 test.

3DMark:4528
SM 2.0: 1829
SM 3.0: 1794
CPU: 1810

System
E6420, 7900GS KO, 2 GB ram

I realized your video card was better but I didn't realize it was that much better . My other specs should be pretty good compared to what most people probably have in their systems

I have the eVGA 680i LT motherboard.

wow the second time i did it, i got 4545. and all my fps were slower than the first time, thats hella wierd, and also wat res r u running, mines at 1280x800

I'm running 1680x1050. Would running it while at a lower resolution give me a different score?

I just used nTune to optimize my system.

My new scores are....

3dmark06: 5014
SM 2.0: 2036
SM 3.0: 1979
CPU: 1995

A little better. Apparently similar systems are getting between 3606 and 8999. I want to talk to the 8999 guy if he really has similar specs to me lol.

I'm surprised your score dropped so much. My 2nd run before I ran ntune was 4545, 1829, 1801, 1834.

8999 with a 7900?! wow he must have it oced to the moon.

not a big ntune fan, always preferred to use rivatuner. 8999 with a 7900! must be volt modded and given one hell of an oc.

just got in my 6420 today and got my system up and running. with the sig in my rig, i was able to get these results:

sm2.0 4318
sm3.0 4206
CPU 2684
overall 9792

It didn't specify the specs of the the PC that got 8999. It just said that was the score range of similar systems. Who knows what that site considers similar. I'd guess it had a better video card than me but who knows.

Interesting to see how much the CPU score goes up when overclocking it.

or more logically speaking, he's probably running SLI........ 3dmark doesn't seem to tell you whether or not it is..................

Whats temps do you get?

i'm at 8 x 420 currently (3.36ghz) and orthos seems to hover around 47C on both cores after a couple minutes.

EDIT: Same story after 10 minutes, mostly reads 47/48c but will occasionally jump to 50/51c

I'll just let this run while I go to dinner.

Damn, those temps are good. I'm sure i mounted hsf correct, so the airflow must be bad. If i close the side panel, the temps jump to 5C. What's your cpu voltage?

It's getting closer to my temps

I used AS5, not the stuff the zalman came with... maybe that's teh difference? my case is closed right now.

btw, i have the fan going directly into the cpu fan pins on the motherboard. the zalman came with this pass through gizmo that lets you adjust the speed of the fan manually. my fan would not turn on at all that way. did you have any issues with that?

and since the fan is going directly into the motherboard, i'll assume it's running on quiet speed. my psu is louder, so can't hear the cpu fan.

speedfan 4.32 says fan1 is going at 1350000 RPM. safe to assume that means 1350rpm?
