3dMark06 problem

what driver version are you using? man thats low, my rig in sig gets me a nice 4585, which beats a 1900xt and a bunch of 1800xts in 06

81.98, installed after fresh OS reinstall.

3DMark05 ran a little slower than usual ~5 less fps avg, and it crashed before it finished loading the second scene.

would you like to report this problem? Yes/No?
UT2004 is still the same, still bairly breaks 100 during 1 player torlan.

It must be 3DMark's side.

I just ran 3dMark06, and I got 3852!?!?

System in sig.

that is really bad, something like af or aa must be on, that kind of score w/ an X2 + SLI just seems way too low, .......

AA & AF in forceware? I turned them off, and got similar fps, but never finished the entire benchmark... should I? 3DMark doesn't override Forceware settings? That is not good...

It couldn't be AA & AF settings in 3DMark, because I have not purchased it and those settings are unavailable.

I should mention that I have had problems with 3DMark05 before, recording scores 5,000 lower than usual. That time, I had previously upgraded my Forceware (and had problems with windows), and a simple OS refreash & reinstall fixed it.

Also, after installing 3DMark06, I was never prompted to reboot my computer, so I just ran it without doing so. Could that be the problem? I will check on that when I get home today.

Other games recieve no such handicaps, so I am looking at this problem as 3DMark's.

Any input taking all this into consideration will be highly appreciated!!!!

Well, nothing does. If you force FSAA and Aniso settings in the video card control panel, those ARE used, period, regardless of any in-game setting. That's what the "application preference" option is for - to not force it, and let the application decide.

As to your performance issues - sounds like an overheating situation. You mention UT2K4 as a point of comparison, but it may well not have this problem, as it's not NEARLY as taxing on the video card as 3dMark05/06. Is everything in your system running at stock clock speeds? Try that, and see what happens.

Not overheating, or overclocking issues. Everything is at stock speed.

There is a total of seven fans in my case, and I have yet to see either of my SLI cards or my CPU go over 55. After the first test, each card was recorded to be under 50, the same witht the CPU. 55 was recorded by my computer after leaving my heater on 90 for a while (it was cold outside).

Like I said, I have had problems with 3DMark before, and reinstalling my forceware driver and/or windows fixed them. This is a software problem, not hardware.

3DMark is a hard game XD, I think I should just delete it and wait for the next version.

yea man, I've got 2x7800 gt's as well, and I get 6000 on the dot. And I only have an FX-55 processor, which gets slaughtered in 06 by dual cores.
