3DMARK06 Issue with new 8.7 Driver

Hey Guys,

I just installed the new 8.7 catalyst drivers and now when I go to launch 3DMARK06 it just hangs and freezes my mouse. I let it sit for 15 mins no change. I have to ctrl-alt-del to task manager then tab my way thru to end the 3DMARK06 process. I never had this issue b4 with any other driver. I uninstalled and resinstalled both the driver and 3DMARK06 no resolution. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? If anyone knows a solution it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
 
I have MSI 4850 currently in my system with 8.7 XP Pro/Home Catalyst drivers. Ran fine for me scored 11,5xx in 06'. No probs here. :confused:
 
nope because mine ran fine and im using vista 32bit. this has happened to me before though when i switched from my 7800gt to my 4859, but then i did a fresh install of the os and it went away.
 
It's a known bug in 3DMARK06.

I had that happen too,
Googled the problem and found a fix that has to do with deleting a dll file.
 
I had the issue tonight on Win XP with my brand new Visiontek HD4870.
My driver version says: 7/3/2008 8.512.0.0
 
found the fix and it worked


go to c:windows/system32/futuremark/msc/ folder and delete the direcpll.dll
 
The above solution with deleting the dll just worked for me -- had the same issue with 3dmark06 (installed from maximus 2 formula cd) + cat 8.8
