I know 3dMark isn't real world and all, and scores dont' always mean everything, but yesterday I decided to try out 06 on the rig I built in OCT.

q6600 GO @3.0
4 gig Corsiar Dominator 1066
Asus p5k Deluxe Wi-Fi
74gig Raptor HD as OS drive
8800GTS 640mb
Xtreme Gamer X-Fi

I ran 3dMark06, and came back with a score right around 10,500. I was a bit dissapointed, but oh well, till I started looking at other people's scores with simular rigs.
There were tons of people over me with the same CPU at the same speed or less, only 2 gigs of memory, and the 320mb version of the 8800GTS. I mean there were lots of scores over 15,000 and some were up to 17,000.

Any ideas on if something is setup wrong, or maybe glitched?

Also, after reading up a lot more on the 1066 RAM, would it be better for me to run it slightly underclocked and at 4-4-4-12, or keep it at the stock 1066 running 5-5-5-15?

I just bought ARMA Gold the other day, and was suprised that I could only muster about 25 FPS with everything set to normal in the options, while people in the forums with less of a system were getting at least 35-45 FPS.
So it may not just be 3dMark I am having a problem with.
System is completly stable by the way, and have run Prime95 to test.
Any other benchmarks I should be downloading and looking at?

Help me out here guys.

I just ran 3dmark06 to see what my score is lately. Turned out it was 12,300 marks.

It looks like we have similar systems, so I'm not sure where the gap comes from. What are your clocks on that 8800GTS? I use 621/1566/999 regularly and it seems to give a decent boost.

I had an issue. With my rig in my sig I was only getting 8000 to 8500ish. I reformated and moved my OS from an IDE drive to a SATA song and now I get 9800ish.

They overclocked their video cards dramatically.
They use High performance in the nvidia control panel.
They're using windows XP.
Try different drivers, some have better scores than others.
