So I installed the 5.6 drivers and my score dropped by 1000 points... Ideas?

Did you remember to go back to your Video Settings and turn off AA and AF? Also, lower quality settings.
 
Definitley not formatting, and I've never had to waste time with driver cleaner in the past. I'll probably just rollback to 5.4 or something until the 5.7s come out. I had this same problem with the original 5.1 release.

Its not wasitng time and can save you a lot of the pain in the future, in fact it might be the difference in the drivers that could be causing your issue. The main thing you should be worried about is your gaming performance. If it didnt effect your games then what's the issue? 3DMarks matter that much to you?
 
Game performance is the same, it's just pathetic that the drivers advertise an increase in 3dmark05 performance and then drop it by 15%.

But does it matter? No.
 
Anyone with any knowledge knows formatting is NOT nessecary. Just a waste of time for updating drivers

I got a few points increase on my aiw x800xt after doing a clean install of the catalyst.
