Hell yeah, the 3dmark03 one was crap :/

All it ended up being was just the benchmarks with post processing enabled (cept the first test), big whoop.
 
Time to bury good ol' 3Dmark2001.

It funny to see now that there are systems on the verge of breaking 1000 fps in those demos. Damn videocards have gotten fast in the last decade, if only CPU's could keep up that pace.
 
Yes! And it is time to put away 2001...when people break the 20k mark, it's pretty useless, and now that 2k3 has the 10k mark broken, we need something to justify our love...and our future upgrades :D

I find $400 to be quite reasonable as long as you are upgrading from a last gen card, that you can sell to make up much of the price.

Overall I paid $243 shipped for my 6800 GT about a month ago. As long as you can keep this pattern up, then you can keep the upgrades up every gen.
 
will current gen cards be able to run all the demos?

edit: nm I see they arent including SM4 atleast not yet
 
Well... I'm kind of looking foward to it. Anyone know an exact date that it might come out as oppose to just "2 weeks"
 
3Dmark01 is a useful system benchmark. Also, I just want to see the visuals, I know it'll run like crap on my rig anyway!
 
its the torture loveing side of all of us.

my new a64@ 2.6 and my 6800gt will be brought to its knees!!

which will be about time. this combo has been so fast ive got no reason to tweak or anything. i can leave everything at stock and turn everything up and max my lcd res at 1280, and then i get bored. and games more taxing/rewarding then doom3 are months and months away. i dont care for fps. i like action strategy.
