3dMark03 freezes with OC

Why is it that the only program that stutters/freezes with my overclocked GT is 3dmark03? Everything else runs fine but damn 3dMark03 starts freezing up near the end of the Wings of Fury demo.. and my temps are fine.

I've heard of people disabling Fast Write and getting less stutters if they are having these problems but ONLY with 3dmark03? And what kind of performance hit are you taking if you disable fast write?

Also a note, I heard somewhere that sometimes keeping your 2d clock speed even with your 3d clock speed can reduce stutters.. but that only made 3dmark freeze sooner

OC was 400/1.1 and my load temps are 78C.

try lower clocks, and make sure vsync is off, and aa/af is off,

So i've been playing around with my settings and find out that if I turn off AGP Fast Write, 3dmark03 stops freezing with my OC.

But, why does that happen? Anyone have an idea?

78c isnt too high at all - these cards dont thermal throttle back until 120c+

yea mpK1337, remember that these are temps on the vid card not the CPU

hey how do you check load temps. I got the 66.31 drivers, and can't figure that out on all the load temps yer talking about

Assuming the system in your sig is accurate, you won't have it. 5900XTs did not have thermal monitors on them. That's a 6800- and 5950-thing only.
