I have virtually the same system as yours. I haven't downloaded it yet, but I will tonight. Looks like I'm shooting for the big 4K with a little tweaking.

3ghz p4 on an Intel 865gbf, x800pro(560/560) 4.9's, gig of pc4000

The nature scene was amazing, all the shadowing was really impressive. The cpu tests owned my system though, I don't think the fps counter ever went above 1.

Isnt that card AGP? How do you have DDR2 on a AGP board? Do you have a link to your score on the Orb?

i havent tweaked anything yet, but i was expecting at least 4k. the inq said that a p4 3.4ghz with a 6800gt should score 4500. im going to tinker with windows, and maybe do some overclocking to see if i can get 4k. after looking at your specs i'm very interested to see your scores compared to mine
 
what's this? a pentium4 beating an athlon64?!:p i think i have the fastest proc score in this thread so far.

ok just got 5800 with my xt pe, and this is why! the new drivers 4.11 or 8.07 increase the
Return to Proxycon about an average of 10 fps, I think something fishy is going on. Why only this level?

It gave a gain of like 1100 for me in my score too.

Anyone have a 9800xt to test this out ?

BTW this just makes 3dmark05 abosuletly useless lol
 
first level uses least new technology/features. any improvement that would be barely seen in the harder benches would be significantly larger in the first.

The textures with the 4.9s will spill over into system ram, the beta patch fixes the memory bug on the 256 agp cards.

no it doesn't lol if that was the case these cards would not even get a 17 fps. Secondly they will be equiavlent to the pro which was the case.

just got it from file shack, they all work, just have to wait in line. 4 or 5 mins
 
fileshack only works if you pay for it. otherwise you gotta sit around for an hour and then get it at 1/3 your download speed. :)
 
there has to be a bug in 3dmark 05 which ATi is taken advantage of, anyone else get these types of results?
 
Wow, I figured the scores would be much lower.
When the last version came out, anything over 1k was a good score.
They didn't lower the bar that much if people are up over 4k from the start.
 
Rancor ati is faster in most applications in direct3d over nvidia thats why they are getting higher scores.
