I'm getting an error when i try to run 3dmark05.

"Your hardware does not suppor tthe features required to run 3dmark05. Pixel shader 2.0(or higher) is one of these."

What's going on..... =.=

Driver problem? Something turned off that shouldn't be? Does 3Dmark 03 work?

I did that. Made sure the drivers were totally off before installing cat 5.13.

Still the same =(

well, i just received my rma card. It's still doing it. So you're right, it's not the card.
I wonder what's causing it.. Any ideas?

Well, in games - it crashes once a while. And it won't even run half life 2.
It gets into the main menu and all, but when i try to start a game -during the loading screen, it gives me a windows error saying that the program isn't responding and needs to be closed.

Meh. I just did that. I reformatted and ghosted my basic apps and reinstalled the driver..

It seems to run now.. weird =)

Ok a few questions.

[1] 8969 3dmark05, is this the average score?

[2] When running cpu tests does anyone else notice sound coming from their cpu?
I had this on my old processor, thought it was a defect. But I'm getting those same sounds on this new one. Can't be coincidence...

Thanks for all the help so far ^^

I have 8000 for score, but its due to shitty RAM and slow HD. Need to get SATA and some fancy RAM quick!

BTW no sound from CPU here.

the sound is very faint. and it sounds like a drive seeking a cd or something.
It's not consistant, only certain times when a 3d app is running.

I have the sound too, but I don't think it's cpu...

yeah, it's not the ram. I initially thought that too.
It's definitely either the cpu or video card. It's kind of hard to tell, with both of them so close to each other. But I'm almost sure it's from the CPU. Because, when you run the cpu only tests in 3dmark05, throughout the whole test the sound is audible.

I was in the office today, putting my ear to all the computers and trying to run a 3d app. Although people were looking at me as if I've gone nuts, I do notice the sound on the computers as well. But it's not as noticeable as mine.

Most of the games, there's minimal noise from the cpu. But for some reason, when playing WoW - it's frequent, especially in busy areas (e.g. orgrimmar AH area)

Well, I don't think it's a defective CPU - since it was evident on my former processor.
But it's just a bit annoying I guess.
