what are good scores do 3DMARK 2003'? I got a 3964 and i got a AMD 2400+ and RADEON 9800 PRO

Thats pretty low. I have a 2.8c at 3.4 with my 9800pro but 3dmark03 is pretty graphics card dependant (my score goes up less than 200 when I oc my proc 600mhz) and I get about 6400.

Make sure you dont have AA/AF forced on in the control panel.

p.s. my 9800pro is at 405 core 391 mem but I still get 5700-5800 when its at stock speed.

They are a bit low, with stock cpu, gpu speeds i get 3157, and if i o/c my gpu to 1.05ghz mem, 550core, i get 3551

i have the same problem as you. i have a 3ghz intel p4 aiw 9800pro but i only 3k. It's odd... before i reformatted my pc.. i was getting around 6k.

Do you guys have your sliders set over to speed as opposed to quality in the ATI control panel? could be your problem

Something is worng your scores are wayyy to low. Your card is scoring what 9600pro-9600xt's get. You shold be getting 5500+ points. In your direct 3d tab in the control panel make sure you have aa and af set to application preference.

I disagree, he has a slow chip (slow fsb) and slow ram.
Maybe a score in the high 4000's is possible but not over 5000.

How many times must I post this.... 3dmark is a synthetic benchmark, it depends on your videocard, not the rest of your system. at most the rest of your system with change your score 300 points. make sure you have all of the sliders to performance and not quality in direct 3d settings and you have the box checked for application preference for aa and af.
smatts you are very wrong... he will get over 5k if he ever gets his settings right.

Make it simple, go to the Direct3D and OpenGL tabs and hit default for both and test. Your score should be 5000+ easy.

Read up, CPU power is a tiny part of the score, 3dmark03 is almost entirely GPU dependant.

Okay , put a 9800 pro in a system with an amd xp2400 chip, 512mb of 2100 ram.

Then put one in a system with an A64 3200+ and a gig of fast memory with 2-2-2-5 timings, please show me "little" difference in the score.

His memory alone is a huge bottleneck. 2.1Gb/sec vs 6.4gb/sec on a decent dual channel board.

Should i format my hdd then reinstal windows or what should i do b/c im getting lower scores then i should.

I assume you also have your v sync off then? This is weird because you should be scoring at least 1,000 more points.

smatts, seriously if you dont know what you are talking about dont try to help because you have no idea what you are talking about.

ah who the hell cares about 3dmark03. i got somewhere in the 4000 with the system in my sig and yet everygame i have i can jack up every setting to 6xAA and 16xAF at 1600x1200 and it runs like a breeze.

fuck 3dmark03.

again people need to realize this is a synthetic benchmark... it does NOT test your whole system, just the videocard, if you want a whole system test try 3dmark 2001 or aquamark

YOU WANT A BARE MINIMUM of 8000 points in 3dMark2003 and 25000 in 3dMark2001

Anything less than that sucks. I hate my system it only gets
20k & 6.4k in 2k1 & 2k3. It blows!!

I can only get like 200+ fps in 1600x1200 in most games that I play. And it only supports DX9.0, not DX10.0!

You need an $500 videocard bare minimum with 256MB of DDR2 to play anything. Doom4 stolen beta only gets 4fps on my system. So dont plan on playing it. Futuremark really knew what they were talking about when they made 3dMark2k3 its a GREAT benchmark.

I have actually done a similar test. I ran my AMD XP system (9700pro, NF7-S, 512mb ddr) at 133 fsb and 180 fsb (pci bus locked). There was less than a 30 point 3dm03 difference. Surprising result, but consistant with what others have found.
