This is the card that started it all. Anybody else own one of these things? I remember i was hella excited when i got it in the mail. my hands literally trembled as i installed it. man, quake gl. brings back some good memories. so how many of you cats out there had the original? how many o.g. 3d gamers here

yea i have a voodoo 1 laying aroung somewhere i remember i just loved it when i got it but it didnt last long thats to bad......btw it would be cool if 3dfx still would be aroung we would have like a voodoo 13 with like 6 gpu's by now :D

that would be cool.

ever since the voodoo1, i got out of computer gaming, but just jumped back in. the improvements are unbelieveable.

A friend of mine got the first one available (Orchid 3d) and as soon as I saw that I went shopping, and got a Monster 3d (had to drive all over phoenix to find one) then just to top my card, another friend of mine had to go and get the Canopus 3d, it had 6MB of ram instead of 4MB.

Of course when the Voodoo2 came out I got the SLI Wicked 3d with H3d glasses to top him.

Those were the days, eating Raman noodles, to pay for computer parts, skipping class to play computer games... Brings me back.

Unfortunately I do not have a Voodoo 1.

I do have a Voodoo 2 however.

I also have a Voodoo 3 3500 TV AGP.

And I had a Voodoo 5 5500 until I killed it.

I have at least 1, 3dfx card from just about every series including "Banshee" and "Rush". I even have Voodoo 5's, 2 with the dual GPU's and 2 with the quad GPU's (cant remember if its like a 5000 or a 6000 or what, I know it was like the very last multi-GPU cards they dropped. I've posted some pix on here before about a year ago, and since then aquired more. When I clear out my storage, I'll try and get some newer pix up of them. I even have original software and books for them including bundled games.

Voodoo 1 really made me into a game-o-holic... :D
Later on it was Voodoo 2, Voodoo 3 3000, 4500 (crap  ).
Never picked up 5500. A little too late to the table... But I still wear my 3Dfx t-shirt proudly...

went from 1 meg onboard motherboard video

to a s3 virge dx 4 meg.

to a tnt2 ultra (cost me 218 bucks and had the insane 32 megs of ram as opposed to 16)

then voodoo 4 (got it for 100 bucks when 3dfx went out of business.. it was 200)

then it was geforce 2 ultra

sold it to get a geforce 3 and made a profit on the card.. can you belive that. sold it for more that it cost me.

then it was geforce 4 4200..

and now its my 6800 OC and i have a 5200 on the side.

so yea.. lots of cards.

love the voodoo line though.

yeah i had one of those - added to my sony VAIO p200 box that had an ati rage3d with 2mb onboard - 14fps quake 2 baby!
I then went to the TNT - looked soo much better than my friends dual voodoo 2 set up and I could run quake 2 at 1024x768 at playable frames all day on my cel 333.
I then went to the original geforce then geforce 2 gts - then was a broke grad student for a while - upgraded to a 9600 256mb sapphire - and wish i could upgrade again...

My very first video card I ever used in anything was a Voodoo 2 I think, though a Banshee sounds really, really familier. That was PCI. I've gone through so many cards for that old computer though. A Voodoo 2, Radeon 32mb SDR, Radeon 64mb DDR, Radeon 9000 128mb PCI, and finally a Radeon 9100 128mb PCI. That is why I love ATi so much. I've had more than jsut that for cards, but I can't remember them, and I've never had a problem with any of them.

awh the good old voodoo cards

I never had a voodoo 1 but I still have two Voodoo 2 12mb cards(cant find the SLI adapter though). I had a voodoo banshee as well but i threw that card out back then :p

I still have one laying around on my workbench. Have a voodoo2 also that is still in service.
