Wasn't 3DFX already gone by the time the Pentium 3 and Socket 370 was out?

I recall them being around while the GeForce 256 was launched. It was by the GeForce2 GTS launch that they were pretty much dead and long acquired by Nvidia. GeForce 2 was launched around the Athlon XP era. So 3dfx was still relevant into the early Thunderbird days.

So to answer your question, they were still around even into the Pentium 3 Tualatin period.
