3D Surround Issue - Triple Titans

Hello Everyone,

I've been working on getting my 3D Surround setup working all weekend. I finally was able to play a select few games using it without very many problems (minor rendering problems...but I see there are patches for that).

However, on other games that clearly should be able to be 3D Surround compatible, such as Elder Scrolls IV: Skyrim, my 3 monitors go into "No Signal" mode when in the game. The game is clearly running since I can hear the sound from it, but the monitors do not come out of "No Signal" mode. I'm able to get to the Desktop by Alt+Tab'ing out of the game and the monitors receive a signal again, thus, displaying my Desktop.

I've also noticed that when I go into the game, I see a flash of the game screen (usually the main menu) and then the monitors lose the signal.

I've looked for game patches and updates, but most of my games are auto-updated since I use Steam or the GameStop App. I did look through the list of patches on the internet (HelixMod site) and saw that they were simply rendering fixes.

I've also noted that most other people are able to use 3D Surround on Skyrim without a problem (other than a few rendering bugs...which are fixed by the patches).

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get at least Skyrim working correctly with 3D Vision?

Thanks in advance!

Stupid question, but did you change the video settings for Skyrim to match your new setup? Have you made .ini changes to your Skyrim install? I would start by resetting your .ini and settings back to default if you haven't already. If that doesn't work and your Skyrim install is modded, I would start with vanilla and see if it starts working. After that you can start adding mods back on one-by-one until you find one that causes the error. Process of elimination and all that.

In the Asus Swift thread, some people were able to fix the "out of range" issue by unplugging and plugging in the displayport cable. Might be worth a shot. Nvidia/Asus are supposed to address that issue with a driver update.

Also try as said above.

I didn't modify the .ini file, but I will look into it. I'm betting that if a game is not 100% 3D ready, then it doesn't necessarily auto-configure it's video settings to the correct values. That may be the issue.

I also forgot about how some people have to reconnect their DisplayPort cable to get it working. That may be a solution as well.

I'll keep you informed...I hate how OPs are given several things to try and never post which idea actually worked...as for me, I like to follow through.

Thanks for the good ideas!

I hate to be discouraging, but FWIW I never got 3D vision working right with Tri-SLI Titan in Skyrim. My understanding, at the time, was that it was a no go due to either driver bugs or Skyrim bugs.

To be fair, last I tried it was back around last December or so. After that I ditched 3D surround and moved over to 1440P @ 120Hz + accessory display.

Skyrim would load, but there would be huge artifacting and display distortion and it would eventually stop rendering and go No Signal. I'm DVI, not DP FYI

Crysis 3, on the other hand, was fantastic as was FarCry 3.
