okay so i have an intelli mouse 3.0 and i just bought maya 7.0. well i need to upgrade to at least a three button mouse and i was wondering if any of you had recomendations. im looking for usb, and laser ideally with a scroll wheel.

thanks

Honestly, anything works well with Maya -- just make sure you have 3 buttons, its scrolls, optical/laser, and well... comfort is the key issue, does it fit your hand? I personally favor logitech (that's what I"m used to), but I think microsoft has a nicer feel. I'm not a fan of wireless, but that's also a personal choice.

That's one option, you could also go to websites that specialize in keyboards and mouses for 3d, e.g. http://www.guygraphics.com/frameset-23319.html. (random google) I think that's pretty dumb though. You'll learn the keys fine without it.

Also, I'm really not sure what the going rate for carpal tunnels is with 3d artists, I just know video editors have to watch for that. So maybe get something ergonomic too?

Then again, I'm only a student. My needs are probably not your needs:)
