I got the machine in my sig up to 5000+ on 3dmark 2005 when it was brand new. After using about half of the harddisk space, my 3dmark 2005 scores dropped by 1000 points to just over 4000. What gives? Is having a dedicated gaming harddrive that important?

question #2, 2 birds with one stone. My memorytimings are 2.5,3,3,8. for a pair of Corsair Value Select 1024 megs of ram. How are thoose timings? are they too loose or tight?

One more question. When playing HL2 Deathmatch, I get horrible freezing and the sound studders for about 10 full seconds and then the game resumes again. This only happens once then I dont see it again untill I start up a new game. Is this normal?


I am using the 70.20 beta drivers by the way. I hope this isnt too many questions

The HL2 stuttering issue is normal. My guess on the rest of your performance is that you need to check your machine out, make sure you don't have any unecessary programs or processes running in the background. You could easily have spyware and other problems.

General software maintenence would be in order.
