Getting 0FPS when it gets to the CPU Test

P4 3.0@3.4
1.5GB DDR400
x1950PRO AGP

I tried changing the proc back to stock speed but no difference? Does this thing take a C2Q just to run?

Should be noted I have the free version so I cannot change any of the settings. I am going to try and run the 03 version, but other people have run this prog on similar setups and got decent scores?

I always get 0-1fps. Never really seen anything higher either.

Whats the highest someone's ever got?

The CPU tests are "locked" at 3fps - they cannot go higher. Everyone with realistic systems today should be around 0-1fps.

That makes no sense, but ok? I'll try running it again after a reboot. The video was nearly at a standstill. Just didn't seem right.

When I ran 03 the CPU test was producing like 30+ fps

I just scored 14640 with 03. How does that compare?

edit: Ok just got 4102 with the 06 version.

The CPU tests in 3Dmark06 would run like ass on a $5000 computer, thats just he way its designed.

Umm that seems a little slow I get almost 4300 with my rig.

I am going to try with the Omega drivers and see if there is any difference. Performance overall is not as great as I thought it would be...

edit: Just tried with using Omega Drivers and got 4097...I did worse! What's going on??

Thats within only 5 points of your first test. Any number of factors couldve caused that and it's WELL within the margin of error. You could test over and over and see the results range in the tens.

Hell the power in your house couldve dropped a milli-amp and caused something like that lol...

Also, why are you so concerned about the CPU test? It's doing graphics 100% on your CPU, so of course it's going to be slow with any scene built to tax it. The reason we get newer benchmarks is that eventually, everyones GPU/CPU will run quickly on a given test, so they need to make a new one to strain the hardware more. This helps separate the cards out as far as power. It does no good to just make something that runs at a high framerate all the time across all systems. Think of it as future proofing :)

3d Mark 06 favors Intel and multiple cores. It will favor the quad core over dual etc. and it's very unrealistic in true gaming at this time. 3D Mark 05 is more realistic but still many games will play almost as fast on single cores as duals. They currently have AMD on their heels for sure and they want you to buy there processor or you are a loser.
AMD on the other hand has done nothing but basically crap on there loyal supporters by offering inferior processors at inflated prices for over a year now. The whinny AMD boys or is it girls are finally having to lower their inferior product price or go bankrupt.

I didn't realize it was only 5 points, it was late and I thought it was 50 points.

I thought the Omega drivers were supposed to be great? They really didn't make any difference?

I thought the CPU test was broken as it was running at >0 fps, I didn't realize it had to was supposed to be like that.

I need a new computer....*sigh*

edit: And yes, AMD is really dropping the ball, yay! Been a loyal Intel fan ever since the Pentium 233mhz

So does everyone.

Seriously, look at the fastest system in the world right now. 2.5fps in the first CPU test!

Well I know one computer store which has achieved a higher FPS ... then again what they do is very shady. I went in to buy some ram from this store, and I noticed 3dmark06 blazing, smooth as silk, and flawless. I asked the guy which system was running 3dmark and he told me that what I was seeing was actually a video they had created by rendering each test, frame by frame, which they then turned into a video clip.

Now thats greasy.
