the default clock speeds are 324/196 and got a 577

the driver i have is 6.14.10.6467

p4 3ghz 1gig ram

any idea?

the x300 is a very very low end video card.. dont let that "x" in the name fool you into thhinking its new tech.. when its newtech...but big rippoff...

that is about the best score ive seen really from a x300.. i would recomend getting a new card if you want to increase that score...

Wait sir.
You are using 4.8 drivers.
Try using oh, I don't know.... the current 5.6 drivers. ;)

That's really low for a regular X300.

Mine @ 325/200 gets 1000 3DMarks in '05.
Overclocked to 470/250 gets me into high 1400's.

500-600 is treading into FX5200 territory :p

It might be a combination of an older driver version and your quality settings. By default, your card is set to a relatively high mipmap quality setting and Vertical Sync to "application-dependent." You should use Custom settings - set all of the sliders all the way to the left (Best Performance in the case of the quality settings; Always Off in the case of Vertical Sync).

As for Anti-Aliasing (AA) and Anisotropic Filtering (AF), make sure that the check boxes marked "Application Dependent" or "Application Preference" (whatever they're marked) are checked. 3DMark will run correctly only when AA/AF settings in the drivers are set to "Application." If you want to use any AA or AF, set those within 3DMark itself, not at driver level.

A perfect example of the importance to have upgraded drivers :D

Glad it worked out for you NitrouseXpress60.
