Here’s one for you guys…a 3D air-mouse called the “MagicMouse.” It sounds pretty cool but I don’t know if you’ll ever convince me that waving my hand around in the air is a good way to control my PC.

But the recent creation of a genuine, working 3D mouse system that you wear as a ring on one finger could open the door to a new model of GUI display that lets the user explore an interface in intuitive 3D. Could we be moving towards a revolution in interface interactivity? Straight out of "Minority Report," meet the MagicMouse!

Probably reduces the likelihood of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, although your arm would probably get tired quickly.

Those aren't new, - a company called Kantek made the exact same thing over 11 years ago, it was called the ring mouse. I should know, I bought one, used it for 10 minutes, then my arm got tired and I never used it again.

It even had the z position ability, although the only software that could use it was their stupid little demo.

Reminds me of those paper towel dispensers that you have to wave at. I'm firmly convinced they purposely deny you a towel for the first 10 waves, and they have cameras in there to record the idiots waving at the wall.

I hate automated bathroom devices! Seems they decided to remove outboard sink faucets and replace them with motion sensors while shrinking the hand space. Look, no one wants their skin to touch anything in the bathroom (the air is bad enough), so why is there no room under the faucet for my hands? Plus, most of the time you don't even know where the sensor wants you to wave.

I will say, however, that automated sinks and dispensers are better than the auto-shutoff sinks, where you have to have to keep a hand on the button and wash your hands one at a time. Come on. We're not all immature miscreants.
