Alright guys I just finished building my overkill build, and I'm a bit unhappy with the results thus far. From what I've been reading, and researching my temperatures, and experience is subpar, and not close to what people I'm seeing have.. why, I have no idea, so figured I'd look for some help here from professionals, and people with experience..I'm running a massive overkill loop with a alphacool ut60 480 in P/P, involved in the upper loop with 3930k, ram blocks, RIVE blocks, bay/pump res combo. All said and done, after finishing constructing the loop, and booting up the pc , im running at the turbo for the chip, and im runnig at around 45 degrees at idle, just sitting there doing nothing, this is in a 70 degree ambient temp room. Now i know nothing of overclocking, so assistance in how and what to do would be greatly appreciate it, but i do know that running intel burn test on max, high, and standard, im pushing the upper 70-75 temps.. i did some dummy guide on overclocking hardly knowing what imn doing at 4.2, and the temps were like 85-90..now i know there's got to be something wrong, when im reading people with less overkill watercooling equip, are getting load temps of 60, with idle 25-30, and are overclocking 4.7-5..my goal and plan was to do the same, but apparently im doing something wrong... advice, knowledge, experience would be greatly appreciated..thanks.

I would check you block and make sure it's making good contact. Pull it off look at the thermal paste and see if it looks like it spread out well. What water block are you using?

Like mentioned above, I would check your mounting of cpu block. With my old WC setup, I had my 3930K @ 4.5 using a BI GTX 480 rad along with Radeon 6990 w/ fullcover block in my loop and my prime95/IBT temps would be 64C on the hottest core after a few hours of testing. Idle would be in the 30s as I wasn't running speedstep, ect. and was running 4.5 at all times including idle.

The seating is fine afaik. I actually just reseated and put new thermal paste on it.

Could I be overclocking wrong? Which is causing the temps? (Being a noob at this)
The temp programs aren't reading right? Not too sure what's going on... over $2000 of wcing equipment and it seems to be running hotter than most.

Not too sure how to look at this. How to oc if I'm doing it wrong.

I have used 1.3-1.45 and all the temps have been relatively the same. What voltage should I be using?

My voltage @ 4.5 is 1.36V set in bios/uefi. Stock voltage for this chip seems to be closer to 1.25V using auto voltage setting. This may be a dumb question, but are your sure you completely bled your loop of air during filling process? There might be an air pocket in the radiator causing higher temps. Also, what programs are you using for temp readouts? Coretemp/Realtemp?? I have the same cpu and motherboard as you.

Hey man, do any of you use rogexchange? I would love to look and maybe even try out your configs. I just cant seem to get this thing to run right. I cant figure out what Im doing/done wrong.

If one of you could upload your config I could download and maybe find the problem.
