ASUS Sabertooth X79 TUF Edition Motherboard and Intel Core i7-3930K
The question though: Is that the C2 or C1 version?
Seems like a good deal. I don't have a board yet since I've decided to get the parts in pieces.
Guys I see like 3 places that had it in stock over the weekend. Where were you?
NCIX USA was showing stock a few minutes ago.. Sale price $589.99

Chip is a bit stubborn, these are all under a decent water cooler.
4.5 barely needs to change anything but multi and a slight vcore bump, after that it gets a lot tougher to squeeze anything out without a lot of volts, which then increases the heat significantly.
It could be your motherboard, maybe the mosfets, etc... If you were on an ultra high quality board like the Rampage IV you think you might see higher overclocks before having to ramp the voltages etc.... up? Just wondering. The UD3 is a nice board but it isn't the top by any means. Just curious.
Hopefully i will get a few more X79 boards to play with, we will see.
But the UD3 holds the current record for overclocking on 2011.
Anyone who is waiting for a 3930K wanna loan me their board for some comparison testing?
try an asrock extreme 4, i use one and i run my c1 3930k at 4.8 @1.385 v core folding at home 24/7 i can run 5 ghz at 1.45 but don't want to feed that much v in to my chip even though temps are only 55c at 5ghz.
what are your temps? my chip seems temp limited becues whit testing i found my that if i set my water chiller to 80f vs the 60f i run it at all the time and load temps get in to the 60s i need 1.425c for 4.8 and cant even boot to 5ghz even up to 1.475v
