3930k $367.39?

They have terrible customer service. If you have any issues just expect to RMA with the manufacturer. But it seems as if they ship stuff out promptly and it is packaged well. They are also known for substituting for cheaper parts but the processor shouldn't be an issue.

At this price I almost want to upgrade from my i7 970 (selling the current mobo + CPU) and get this.

Man, wonder how well these will OC. I can get a Sabertooth X79 for $190.
With the crap OC that I got from the 4770K (4.4GHz @ 1.2V), might be worth the extra ~$80 to get this instead, as long as it clocks up to 4.8GHz.

Guess I'll be finally upping my 3820 to a 3930k, been waiting for months since I missed the 399$ micro center deal :)

Thanks OP

It says 'Product Condition: OEM' on the store page. That makes me hesistate here for some reason.

At this price I'd just go LGA 2011 regardless if I were in the market for a new CPU. And there's still IVB-E to look forward to on that platform.

Retail do not come with heat sinks anyway, so the difference between OEM and retail is a box.

... and warranty.

Have you ever once in your life had a CPU actually die on you? Because I haven't. I've witnessed every other component go bad, if not my computer than my brother's, but never a CPU. But yes, warranty as well, for those actually concerned. :p

No. But I've had plenty of misfortune with other PC parts. It's not unheard of to have a CPU die for no reason.

Not intending to be Negative Nancy, but just pointing out the risk involved here, despite how small.

Bought, paid, cancelled after realizing C1 stepping and OEM.... I used paypal CC so I can always chargeback if they don't refund. Lady was extremely anxious to get off of the phone.

Oh man, this is really tempting. I was wanting to build something new, and had been targeting haswell, but with such mediocre results...this makes me want to go with the enthusiast line again.

Hmm. Even though it would be highly unlikely that I would want to use vt-d that lessens the deal..

Which stepping is the better overclocker? I would be upgrading from a 920 D0. 1366 socket. to the 2011 socket. D0 was the best stepping for overclocking for the 920's.

Intel will RMA a C1 for a C2.

/I've done it.

I thought of that but now its a long time since C2 has been released. I wonder if they will still take an RMA like this. Also could this stock be the RMAs from Intel purchased at a lower price?

Edit: The deal looks like its gone now so I guess I am out of luck and back to trying to get a C2 off ebay or FS/FT for less than $400 shipped..
