3870 Crossfire or 4870?

I currently have a 3870 512 OC in my system right now. My motherboard supports crossfire. Would it be more cost effective to buy another 3870 for around $100 for just replace my current 3870 for a $250 4870?

CPU - AMD X2 6400
4GB PC1066 DDR2
AMD 790GX Mobo with 750 SB Chipset
 
You would be better off with 2 x 4850's. I would not go for the 3870 crossfire route either, a lil too much stutter coming from that series. 2 x 4850's would serve you just great imo.
 
I don't want to spend that much. 2x 4850s are more expensive then a single 4870. I only want to spend around $200. Less if I can.

OP...Go for the single card solution, sell your 3870 and grab a 4870..!! Thats what I will be doing soon.
 
I went from a 3870X2 to a 4870 and found the 4870 to have better performance. I now have 2 4870's in xfire and it's amazing.
