Using a Cooler Master 212+ cooler and MX-2 paste. Just wondering if these are ok temps.

Current O.C 4200Mhz

Prime95 10 min test.

Temps are a little high. I max out around 73 degrees running the same OC with a 212+. What voltage are you at?

I would be very surprised if you need all of that 1.3 volts to hit 4.2 stable. Lower voltage = lower temps.

I'm about 8 hours into a 12 hour stability test for 4.4ghz at 1.175volts. Of course each chip is going to be a little different, but definitely try out your stability at a lower voltage.

Your voltage is way high for 4.2. Like Nethel said I have the same 4.4 OC and I'm only at 1.202v to get 4.4.
Once you get to 1.3v it gets really hot fast. To get 4.7ghz I need over 1.35v and I can hit 69c+ on my custom water loop. But with 4.4ghz and 1.202v I only max out at 53c.

I get 4.2 on stock voltage with my 3570k. See how high you can get it on the stock voltage & go from there.

Definitely lower voltage. I have had a 3570k that would do 4.4ghz undervolted (stock VID 1.262) to 1.150v and it ran super cool. My other one would make it all the way to 4.8ghz with 1.3v.

Also, if your system maintains stability try dropping your PLL voltage down a little. That will help drop temps as well.

Is there a guide for ocing a 3570k any of you would recommend? I need help, thanks

I have a cooler master 212+ with Arctic silver grease

I'll lower the voltage on it later. Actually this is running on the bios's preset turbo option. So I'll manually set it when I get out of class and post my results.

Lowered the vcore to 1.170v in the bios. Anything less and I would get bsod. Shows 1.160v in CPU-z.

Temps after 4 minutes in prime.

Yeah that sounds like a typical value voltage for 4.2. I got that voltage for 4.1GHz on my 3570k. Then clocked down to 4.0 to ensure stability. Your temps are lower than mine since you are using a bigger cooler and I am running my fan at lower speeds to run quiet. I think there are 3570k processors that can hit 4.2 at lower voltage but typical ones seem to run at about 1.17V. BTW you seem to have a setup similar to mine though your GPU is much better.
