I have overclocked my cousins 3700+ san diego from 2.2-2.7ghz. I reduced the ht multi to 4x and kept the multiplier the same. I have just increased the fsb. The voltage is at stock and he wants to keep it that way. The idle temp is 33*c and on full load running p95 and mem test is 42*c total maximum. Any ways to optimise?? Should i reduce the multi and increase the fsb?? will this make much of a difference. These settings i have now are fully stable on p95 left on overnight. Anyone got any higher on stock voltages?

you have it stable at 2.7 with stock voltage? I absolutely hate you. and fsb doesnt exist anymore on a64's in the traditional sense with the memory controller on the motherboard, so increasing it will not provide any benefit, unless you have really fast memory and think the controller can handle it. I would say leave it as be and let your cousin know he is quite lucky to have such a good chip.

Thanks man. so i guess ill be experimenting to find his max oc:D ill post my results

STOCK voltage! that is a hell of any oc. congrats! and to reiterate, no need to max fsb/htt.

So do you all think just to leave it how it is?? is this a good oc?? for stock volts

I'd say so, thats about the same as my Sandy.
It also did 2.7Ghz with stock voltages, well lower than stock but just barely (1.392)

another with such an insane overclock  god how i hate my life. Even suicide run at 1.8v to try and be stable at 2.8 was a no go, and you guys are over here sitting pretty at 2.7 and stock volts. i usually run 2.65 with 1.55 volts to be 24 hour prime stable. you know, if you havent told your friend yet, you may want to buy another 3700+ and sell that golden chip here on the forums, those with water/extreme cooling may find it very enticing.

Thanks guys...no he really wants to keep his chip i cant sell it. But thanks for all your input ill leave it at 2.7 then!
