Running an Asus A8N SLI Premium, was upping the frontside bus to 220 and it was solid, upped it to 230 and CPU-Z reads it at 188.2, with a slower clock speed. What's the deal?

Dose anyone know if Cool'nQuiet would change that on its oun? Or would that be disabled to OC?

dont use C&Q when overclocking, and make sure u have good cooling, i got my friend's 3700+ to 235fsb on the same board, didn't have a chance to stress it much and he didn't want to OC permenantly but i built it for him and wanted to play:p

I figured it out. The multiplier was being lowered a bunch as well as the memory index frequency in the dram settings. fixed those and right now i've got a pretty decent oc, at 240 fsb. I have a pretty nice HSF, was thinking about going for higher.

What is the stepping on that sandie? the KAB2E chips have turned in the nice numbers... Also, make sure you have a very recent bios for the Asus board because there used to be a "no post over 250 on the FSB" bug... that is, if you go for 250... my KAB2E 0532XPMW does 255 x 11 with no vcore increase... Anyways, good luck and have fun! :)
