Hey guys, I've decided to start folding again. I'm not exactly new to the team I folded for awhile in 01' right when Electron microscope program first came out. And maybe we didnt have the point system back then, I cant remember, but the WU/point system doesnt make much sense to me. I've done a search and read the FAQs but nothing explains to me why Ive done 363WUs and have 8 points. Also my F@H client reports I have finished 0 WUs.

Thanks.

That sucks.

Other then that. I have no clue.

I think you need more CPU's.
yea. try that ;)

Fold [H]ard----or Die [H]ard

better off asking this at the official forums for FAH, those guys can check up on what happened.

do you have EM3 up and running to see your progress?
when did it upload the WU? sometimes I have had to wait up to 4 hours
to see the points reported.. strange.

I know that back in the day, wus were worth far less points. I only started folding back 1.5 yrs ago so I don't know how many points wus were in 01'. Also if you folded for a different team your points wont transfer. Post on the official stanford foldin@home forum and see if they can help. I wish you the best of luck, and fold on.

For what it's worth, on 12/8/2001 team 33 produced 1161 points. Yes, that's the whole team for a 24 hour period.

I folded for the [H], I might have had a different name or the H tag infront of my name.

Why me!! Oh well, Im Catboxer_[H] now. Hope this fixes it. Can anyone find the email of who I should contact over there? I'm looking but I don't see anything.

Edit: New name doesnt work either. F@H hates me.

I would start by checking the F@H log file and see if you getting "early end unit" that would explain why you have so many WU and no good point values to go with them. :D
Your ambient temps might be getting to high and corrupting the WU. I am not sure if that is what is going on but it is worth a look!
Good luck!

Thanks xENo!!!

You haven't given it enough time to work, dude.

Calm down.

WUs take time to complete, and points don't transfer if you change names. You also need to use the same name and team on every box you fold with.

If you start folding right now on one box, it could take days upon days to register credit.

Have a beer, take a load off, check stats in a few days.

EDIT: I just checked your stats twice myself. You're broken like a thin girl's pelvis after encountering Ron Jeremy. (That's really fricken broken)

if you've completed 363 WU and gotten 8 points, you are most likely Early_unit ending. FAH really strains a computer and an overclock that works with everthing else will not necessarily be stable with FAH. You might not see anything amiss, but WUs will fail. As stated earlier, check your log and if you have any Early Unit ends, my bet is you are overclocked too high.

Oh wow you really are broken. I would definately check to see if your computer is early unit ending.

Yup... I'd say it's early end units..... How about posting the log file so we can tell? Is your boxen OCed? is everything stable?

Keep on Folding!!

I don't know about now but I'd say his boxen were unstable in '01. If points start showing up regularly it's probably okay now. Give it time to see if points start coming in, and take a look at your logs to see if anything strange is going on.

He's showing 574 WU's this week with only 8 points produced. This is not a 2001 issue.

Unless my point spread changes really fast soon..

I am having a similar issue.. had 10 WU's turned in in the past hour and
the points arent matching up (unless stanford is really lagging)

He's also showing 0 (that's zero, zip, nada) processors.
Somebody with some pull needs to email Vijay.

on stanfords site.. im waiting for the 3pm update on eoc...

see whats going on..

but 10 wu's done (270-280) with ~200-300 points total doesnt seem right..

esp since 95% of the clients i have are around 60% complete
(except one that isnt monitored that my friend has set up)
and unless a home computer went crazy..

Yeah Im seeing a lot of Early unit ends in my log. :( I'm not sure why, its stable in everything else. 3D/2D.

Yup. you are broken.

I might be kinda broken. but not broken that bad! :( sorry bro

might be something along the lines of the OC'd stuff, but if you don OC
then not sure what else it could be

Its OC'd but its stable. I guess I could try it back at stock Spds, but at this point I wonder if I can right itself on its own.

I'm starting to think I have a failing CPU. I've been between the K8T800 Chipset and the NF3 and both gave me really flakey results. I've also had to lower my video card OC progressively lower since I got this CPU. I don't have enough $ to trade out all the components I have that I think could be junk.

Going to try stock for today.

Trust me. FAH is brutal on overclocks. I have a brand new Sempron 3000+ S754. It's 100% stable in everything but FAH at 225 FSB. I drop it down a couple MHZ and it love FAH.

Best test is just to drop your overclock a few MHZ and see if FAH works. It should. A few MHZ doesn't make a big difference in the long run.

Have you been using the same PSU through all your problems Catbox?

The power supply ive been using since moving to A64 is a Fortron Blue storm 500w. It's been working great, and is probably the only component I wouldnt sell in an instant.

After 1 hour I've got 0 Frames completed as reported by F@H Win GUI. EM3 Loads up the protein but then makes no progress.

I would unload the GUI and delete it all and go to the console version. Does it fetch a WU? Where is it dying?

Ahh GUI.

Yea when i first started I had constant problems with that too..
I stick with console now only.

pwned!!

have you run memtest and prime95 on it to check for stability?

T-3

I deleted the GUI version, and installed the console client. It gets the WU but as far as I can tell its just sitting at 0 out of 125000 Steps.

Edit: NM its working!! Completed 1250 out of 125000 steps. Im going to blame the GUI client on this mess.

As of posting this I have 575Wu and 9 points. Its almost 7PM CST. So we'll see how it looks later. Thanks for the help guys.

So what do you guys think? Still broken? My stats seem off. I added a 2nd box (24 hours ago) with a 1.6Ghz P4 in it in addition to my 2.4Ghz A64.
