can you use any usb wireless adapter for the 360 or do i need to overpay for the microsoft one ?

You can't use other adapters because there's no drivers for them. MS only supports their own product, you can get ethernet-to-wireless bridges though. Originally I was felt the same way, but other usb devices that did a/b/g were expensive also, but not as much as the 360 one. Also you don't have an external power apdapter like you would if using a ethernet-to-wireless bridge and you can configure it on the system, which I think is really nice.

It's also worth mentioning that if you already have one of the original Xbox wireless adapters, those work too since they're just ethernet bridges with the Xbox logo on them.

I read some where that you CAN use any usb wireless adapter, but you have to take some extra steps to get it working.

I've heard the same as well. But a quick Google search revealed nothing.

long story short, i have a wired pc and and xbox 360... if i buy the ms wireless adapter for my 360 is there knowledge of it working on a pc?

just curious... i dont't need the pc to be wireless at all, but i would feel better bout the hefty ms price if i new it might serve 2 purposes...

thanks for your insights,
-P
