360 Software update?!

Trying to update the software of this ancient xbox 360, without a hdd, or memory card, to the newest update, allowing for flash drives and the such to be used to store profiles, so I can get on xbox live...

Is there any way to do this without having to buy a memory card or hdd? thanks.

if it's an old model fraid not, the newer firmware lets you use usb sticks and external hd's as storage space but since that is in the newest firmware you're gonna have to get an hd or mem card. Check ebay a 20gb hd should be pretty cheap.

You can download the update from xbox.com and burn it to a DVD or CD

that wont help unfortunately, when microsoft released the newer interface in requires like 100something storage space on top of the normal xbox firmware space
