Can you ise a wireless controller with the play and charge cord on your PC? Everytime I hook it up the device can not be found? Does it have to be the controller made specifically designed for PC?

There's a dongle that lets you use a wireless controller on the PC. It's about $15. The charging wire doesn't carry any data, so it won't work. Pick it up - you'll be pleased. New games like Bioshock and Lost Planet actually change their UI to match the 360's when you use the controller.

Like Domingo said, the wired 360 controller works on PC right out of the box, You have to buy the dongle for the wireless controller. The play and charge cable only has the power wire.

yeah they make a Wireless Xbox360 controller for the PC, last time I checked they were selling them for 50 bucks.

I got one myself last month, to play Trackmania and NFS. The left thumb joystick from day one tugged to the left, and now every so often simply doesn't register movements, sending me ploughing into walls.

Drivers or hardware? I suspect the latter, but if you all own one, input would be toppo.

I'd say it's likely the pad. You might try re-calibrating it if you can. Mine doesn't work with every game, but it's never had any issues with registering inputs or the analogs being off.
I regularly use mine with fighting game emulators and I find it to work really well in that regard. For aiming in an FPS...I'm no wizard with aiming via a pad, but I find it to be better than a mouse in Bioshock.

Does it have native support, or are you using something like ControlMK?

I just bought the wireless dongle and use one of my xbox wireless controllers with it, works flawlessly. No need to buy some special "PC VERSION" of the xbox controller.

Native to the point that the whole game (UI included) becomes just like the 360 version of the game. In fact, I don't think you can use any other joystick or pad with Bioshock.

If you mean emulation - I'm using Final Burn, which lets you map any button to any kind of controller you can imagine. I use the left analog as a joystick and I map the buttons accordingly.
