360 Controller for Grid, worth it?

Been playing grid on the pc with the keyboard and its obviously a little challenging. Wondering if it's worth it to pick up a 360 controller to play the game with. I will probably be getting a 360 next year anyways, so it's not a waste in that respect, and I'm sure theres other games I could use it for as well?

Go for it, I have one on my PC and love it. There are plenty of other games that you can use it and alot of the recent ones map the x360 controller automatically.

Edit: It does work now, I guess they changed it. You used to have to have a real wired controller to play.

The 360 controller makes the game a much better experience. I tried the demo with only the keyboard but then I bought a 360 wired controller from eBay and have been using it ever since. Its great.

The knock on the 360 pad is that the d-pad is horrendous. Any older PC games that use the d-pad won't fare well with it.
If you're getting a pad for one game, you might see if there's a cheaper option from Logitech.

The controller is a must if you want to play without the assists, like a lot of the ranked online servers use. Or you could use a steering wheel with pedals, but ya, controller or wheel for racing without the assists activated.

Love my 360 controller for GRID! Really like how its plug and play. However, been thinking lately about going one step further and getting a nice gaming wheel.

Then yes it would work in cojunction with the gamepad connected to your pc's usb port. I often leave my gamepad charging using this cable when playing pc games. Rumble is active even though I'm using mouse and keyboard for various games.

I use my 360 controller for every other pc genre except fps.

Definitely do it. It works great for GRID (I'd hate to play that on KB&M) and you get the added benefit of good support for a lot of games.

Yes, you can use a play and charge to connect a wireless 360 controller to the PC. If it's going to be permanently wired, I would just put the default plastic battery cover on it instead of actually putting the battery in however. They're NIMH and will develop a memory.

get the g25 wheel and use it with the 360 when you get one.

I felt like that too for the firstnfew hours too then I got used too it. Coming from other racing games it's a bit odd but once you get it, it's really a great game. Last racing game I enjoyed as much was TDU.
Grid is awesome imo.

Picked up the wired version and liking it so far. Though I'm surprised how easy it still is with all the assists switched off. I suppose I was expected a bit of a forza 2 feel having played it a few times at a buddy's, but that's not really the purpose of grid. Thanks for all the input though everyone.

Yeah, pretty sure GRID is more of an arcade racer hence the way it feels when you turn etc.

Can anybody compare the Playstation controlllers to the 360 one? I heard there isn't that much of a difference (aside from layout etc) and is it just on personal preference...
