I've had this CPU for a couple years now, but after some instability when I was first overclocking I set it to something safe and left it alone. I've recently decided to try again and I saw something strange during stability testing. Obviously it isn't quite there yet. I suspect another 0.005V will probably do the trick, but I saw something weird in the results.
As the charts below demonstrate, VID and VIN0 increase significantly while the stress test was running. I don't know if this is a measured voltage or a reference, but a doubling in voltage gave me quite a shock. Anyone know what is going on here? Is this a problem?
The computer was left unattended for the duration of this test. The full set of output charts is also included.
Edit: I think I've figured out now that VIN0 is actually the GPU core voltage on my GTX480. I'm not any closer to understanding why it was recorded as being at 2V though. I have it overclocked to 840MHz and the voltage is set to 1.125V, and it idles at 0.963V.
