I currently own an Emerson (not top of the line, i know, but it was a gift and the best i can get right now) 32" lcd (720p, 1366 X 768) and (if possible) am planning on using it as my main monitor for my PC. I sit about 3 feet from the tv and am currently using an S-video cable from a 9600GT. The picture i am getting from where I'm sitting is almost impossible for web browsing, instant messaging, etc, but plays video and games beautifully. My question is will I notice a difference from my viewing distance if i upgrade from an S-video to a DVI/HDMI cable? Any help is greatly appreciated. :)

O dear god yes. S-Video cables aren't capable of carrying anything more than a 480i signal so you're feeding that display standard definition right now. Switch over to HDMI and start outputting 1366x768 or 720p and you'll be blown away. If you think games look good now (trust me they don't :D) you may want to have a spare pair of pants handy.
