Are there 30Cap 2.8C's or is 30Cap limited to 3.0C's? Also how much outta newegg have you seen lately thats 30Cap?

I took out my 2.8c today ( 30 caps) and replaced it with a new 3.0c that I got today from newegg, also 30 caps! I am running Prime 95 right now at 250 fsb @ 1.55V right out of the box.

Could someone please elaborate on what 30 caps is?
I keep seeing it used in here and I am purchasing a P4 soon and trying to educate myself on getting the best chip possible for my money.

30-caps refers to the number of capacitors on the bottom of the P4 processor packaging (the little square area surrounded by the pins). It's the same packaging as the P4EE (Expensive Edition) uses and people have been getting some great overclocks with them. Here are some S-specs for guaranteed 30-cap chips........

BX80532PG2600D SL78X - 2.6C
BX80532PG2800D SL78Y - 2.8C
BX80532PG3000D SL78Z - 3.0C
BX80532PG3200D SL792 - 3.2C

but you may get lucky anyway with other S-specs and still get a 30-capper. But don't get too hung-up on finding a 30-capper, I was going nuts looking for one in the UK and couldn't. In the end I just ordered a 3.2C and got a 12-cap 3.2C, it's still able to clock up to 3.84GHz with the stock Intel cooler and TIM though. :)

i had a 30 cap 2.8c, just sold it since it overclocked like crap  could barely get 3.3ghz out of it at 1.65v on my ic7g setup. probably just a bad chip for high speeds

I've got a 30cap 2.8c. been running 24x7 @ 265fsb 1.6v - crappy air cooling too (vantec Aeroflow w/tmd fan)

jesus, some insane OC's in your sig. I havent really felt the need to OC my chip as of yet.

What's the difference between a 30 cap and M0 stepping since I got the M0 stepping P4 2.8C and it overclocks decently. I could do better but I dont want to pump anything more than 1.55 Volts (stock cooling :( )
