Hi,

I am looking for a video card that supports 30bits (10bits/channel) output over HDMI or DisplayPort.

I know that video cards have been using 30bits RAMDAC for a long time. However, in practice it seems a bit more complicated.

Cheaper is better.
I have no specific requirements in terms of 3D performances.
(Even if I would appreciate to keep the performances level of my current Radeon HD 4850.)

Many thanks in advance,

Isn't that a specific feature of just about any midrange and up of the HD3xxx+ and HD4xxx GPU cards? Does your 4850 not work for some reason?
Couldn't you just search newegg for HD4xxx cards with HDMI and/or DisplayPort.

What's wrong with DVI? The TDMS transmitters are the same for it and HDMI just needs a simple adapter or adapter cable.

My Radeon HD 4850 512MB (Sapphire) has two DVI DualLink outputs.

Since my monitor (HP LP2480zx) only accepts 30bits over HDMI and DisplayPort, I tried with the supplied DVI-to-HDMI adapter and an HDMI 1.3 cable.
Unfortunately, I found no trace of a "30bits option" in the driver.
The monitor claims it receives 24bits.

May I have missed something ?

PS : Windows 7 RC
ATI Catalyst 9.8 w/ Control Center

Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately, Quadro profesional video cards are VERY expensive, too expensive.

You cant find it as far as i know the quadro series are the only option who actually (really support)
