Soes the 3007 have the same problems as the 2407? Namely, banding, crappy component performance, input lag and bad scaling? I'm actually thinking of getting one. Also, does anyone know what kind of panel the Benq 30 inch monitor is? I assume its the same IPS type the 3007 is?

I have not seen to much about shortcomings for the 3007. however I think you should do a search on "Dell 3007" there are about 100 threads about it. Some with the questions that you are asking.

Also if you have not seen it. Hard OCP has a review about the Dell 3007 display and there experiences with it...

None of the shortcomings you listed apply (it has a single input: dual-link DVI BTW). It doesn't have any built-in scaling, the video card has to take care of that. It has a small problem of its own: the left side of the screen is a tad darker than the right. It's not a big deal, but if you are a graphic designer, stay away. Otherwise, 3007 is awesome. 2407 doesn't lag, 2405 did though.

Love both of mine. Have no problems with them but there is the little issue with one side being a little darker than the other. It's not noticeable unless you're really looking for it. If you're going to be relying on it's ability to reproduce to color accurately, stay away. Other than that, I love gaming on mine, no ghosting, and love it more than my 2405's.

Alright thanks guys. The 3007 doesn't satisfy my needs either. I guess I'll wait untill the next generation of technology comes out. :(
