Hi,

Does anybody here knows the supported resolutions of the 3007wfp-hc, Is it only 1280 x 800 and 2560 x 1600?

I was also wondering about the brightness consistency issue the the previous 3007wfp had, Has it been resolved with the new unit?

Yes, because 2560 x 1600 is for dual link only(2 * 1280 x 800).

The screen supports any resolution your video card can generate up to 2560x1600

no internal scaler... so graphic cards (nvidia) would have to do the scalling from any resolution (below 2560x1600) up to 2560x1600

yes... with the addition that in order to do resolutions between 1280x800 and 2560x1600, your video card will have to be dual link.

In other words, even tho single link supports 1920x1200, you won't get anything higher than 1280x800 on this monitor wiht a single link card.

Thanks for the info guys,as far as I can understand any smaller resolution is supported, the graphic card does the scaling Job.

Does 4:3 inputs changes aspect ratio, is it stretched out to 16:10?

I myself have not done too much research on this monitor. But from what I heard and from what Askanison has said above. This monitor does not have an internal scaler. Which means it does not have the ability to change the aspect ratio of any resolution sent to it. It will automatically stretch anything sent to it that hasn't already scaling (AKA graphics card if your using a PC, PS3 if your using one them etc). Unfortunately most of these devices, don't have the option to do the scaling, some have the ability but its not turned on etc.

So unless your device that your hooking up to the monitor has a internal scaler, your stuck with it being stretched and filling the whole screen... One of the main reasons why I myself have chosen to keep away from this monitor.

Yeah, okay. Why don't you tell me one thing that hooks up to DVI (the only input on a 3007) that doesn't have an internal scaler?

Theres better ways of saying you can't afford it.

A monitor with out internal scaler would not stretch and fill the whole screen. It handles only 2 resolutions 1280x800 and 2560x1600. Your video card will have to do the stretching to fill or keep the aspect ratio or keep the native 1:1 pixels... all the while feeding the monitor the full 2560x1600 (or 1280x800 pixels with SL-DVI) pixels of info 60 times a second. Any other signal other than the 2 mentioned will simply not be displayed.

You should be able get a ps3 running linux to display a desktop window at 1280x800 on a 3007fpw. Dont expect to game with it.

Thanks for the clarification Askanison. And taylorwilsdon affording it is never a problem, perfection is. I need a monitor for all around use with my consoles as well as my Gaming PC all in the same space. I unfortunately won't find that in the 3007. Its either to be the Samsung 40inch 1080P Display, since I like the panel on the 46 inch Sony XBR that we have in our living room which Samsung has produced. Or the Dell 27 incher, accommodation is key to how I want to have things setup in my computer room.
