3007 and 2707 = Same Price??!

You are comparing the price of the 27" to that of the lesser quality 30" that Dell makes. The -HC model (the better model) of the 30" from Dell should be on sale soon enough for around $1600-$2000 and it will match the specs of the 27", i.e. 92% color gam., etc.

Yes, I want the new specs of the 2707 but that’s a bit much for better color. Not sure about the silver color bezel either as looks bigger also. This years new Panasonic 65” plasma I have had my eye on is 1080p with better color depth and cheaper than last year’s non-1080p… They ask what they think they can get not cost plus a fair markup. I want two to replace my 2405 and 2005 setup. I think the 27” at 1920x1200 is perfect for games and movies unlike the 30”.

Found this:

HP took a little extra time to jump into the big screen LCD fray, but being late to the party allowed them to deliver a 92% gamut display that offers superb image quality and fast response times. About the only downside is the price. At $1,699, the LP3065 is about $400 more than the current best price for the Dell 3007WFP. For that extra cash, you get a wider color gamut and three DVI ports. Response time differences are minimal, but the overall image quality is better, particularly in rich color images and video.

Price on the 2707 has already dropped from $1399 to $1259, but now $15 less than 3007 on the Dell site. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productlisting.aspx?c=us&category_id=6198&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs

Presumably Dell is trying to sell off their inventory of the old 30" model before intrioducing the 3007WFP-HC.

Also, the 2707 manual is up and it supports 1:1 Apect as a widescreen mode for non-PC input. (Look under Using the OSD)

Yes, but that price needs to be sub $1000 to be tempting enough over the 2407. With the same res and a little better color and a little bigger screen it should just be a little more money not double. If it had 120Hz refresh vs. 60Hz or something else like some of the other LCDs at CES are promising.
