I have an AMD 3000+ running at 3200+ speeds and was wondering if upping the voltage from 1.65 would do anything except make the processor more hot. I was looking for a little increased stability. Not sure if it would be worth it or not since i'm not sure exactly of what increasing the voltage does except give a better/heavier more stable signal, i think. Correct me if I am wrong and a little advise on increasing the voltage would be nice.
 
1.7125v 200x13 here cpu temps on per system basis.. but doesnt go past 104F load(40 C)
managed to keep it quiet/silent too
 
I can do 200x11 but as soon as I go 200x11.5 it doesn't want to start. 0.5 multiplyer can't make enough of a heat difference to go from 40C to inoperable... so I was thinking I might need to raise the vcore, i'm just wondering how I can do it safely without pushing it to fry.. Is it good just to up the the mult until it seems to have stability issues and then slowly raise the vcore until it's stable again taking temps into consideration with the extra voltage?

edit: mobo won't let me raise the fsb past 200mhz, but it's not something I would do much of anyway since my ram is pc3200.

yea thats pretty much how you do it.. check temps check stability if temps good raise vcore if not stable rinse repeat
