Marry Christmas All!

Ok me and my wife are in the market for a nice digital camera. I Like the fuji s700 on new egg but i cant get my wife to appreciate to photos, so i most likely need to go to a local retailer budget is 300-370ish us dollars and i really like to bigger cameras non of those tinny pinkie cameras. Please help and happy holidays.
 
I'd say you should get out to a store like walmart, bestbuy etc. with your wife to just handle a bunch of cameras and check out the features as there's a huge amount of brands and models out there.

Your hands and your wife's hands make a big difference in how you like the feel of a camera first of all. Your budget is pretty good if you want any point and shoot up to the higher end ones remembering you'll want a bigger mem card and a case as well plus rechargeable AAs and a charger if it takes those.

Canon has a very extensive line of cameras that are well known for their quality of build and picture taking.

I've owned samsung, several fuji and an olympus and now have a nikon dslr and a canon small p & s which I'm very happy with.:)
 
I picked up my Canon Digital Rebel with the kit lens for 330.00 last year off ebay. I love the camera - a DSLR is quite a learning experience but the film is cheap :D I just looked at ebay and there are some Canon D30s to be had for less than 200 - not sure what the quality of those are, but my 300 is quite impressive.
 
Well we went to circuit city and found a nice canon s5is my wife and my self both liked it so im going to search for some info on it and make a decision this weekend.

any input on the S5is
