So I'm having a little trouble deciding...

Ya see, I just moved up to a Dell 2408 ultra-sharp flat from a 19" CRT which I got on sale (totaled $530 incl tax + s/h). Don't get me wrong, I love the monitor, and it seemed huge when I got it but now it just seems average. :(. So, now I want to return it and purchase a used 30" from the outlet. There are two models available, the Dell 3007 & 3008. There seems to be a pretty big price gap between the two (the 3008 being almost $400 more), so I wonder if I should invest in the more expensive model or go with the 3007?

Or am I just being silly and should stick with the 2408?

Thanks for reading :D

go with the 3007, most people recommend it over the 3008 because it has less input lag.

3007, but make sure you have video card that will drive the monitor sufficiently.

I hate to burst your bubble, but coming from someone who recently upgraded from a 20 inch dell LCD to the 3008WFP I have the same feeling you do with your 2408. The 3008wfp just seems average now because I have been using it for almost a month now. Then I pinch myself and look at my old 20 inch LCD and realize just how much bigger this thing is. Anyways the point is, you will probably get the same feeling of "average size" going from 24 inch to a 30 inch.

I went with the 3008 over the 3007 because of the numerous inputs, the nicer design, and mainly because I have a hard time telling the difference between 10 ms and 60 ms input lag.

I had a feeling it might be that way. That makes things a little more complicated. :(

I also want a 30" LCD but I am waiting for a H-IPS RGB LED.

I'd just go with the NEC now. The main advantage of RGB LED backlighting is that it increases the native color gamut dramatically, which you probably don't even want unless you're a graphics professional. Also, I don't know of any manufacturers who have plans to introduce one.
