I am trying to setup multi monitor between my 30" Dell 3007WFP-HC and my 24" LG L246WP. I am only running a single 285 GTX and I can get them both to be on, but the LG doesn't fit the screen properly. For example, it is set to use 1920x1200 (native resolution), but I have about an inch on the right side of the screen that isn't used. I put my mouse over to it and it just jumps to my other screen. I also can't reach the top of the screen when I maximize windows on it.

I have double checked the LG monitor settings and it is set for PC setup and Full for ARC. Lowering the resolution helped with the top of windows being cut off, but I can't fix the inch of blank pixels on the right. Nvidia's resize options had the same effect as changing the resolution. I have switched the display port I connected to, but the results were the same. Currently the 30" is plugged in closest to the motherboard.

Is this a limitation of my graphic card or am I missing something else? Not sure if it makes a difference, but my 30" is plugged in DVI-D and the LG is using HDMI to DVI. Lastly, I would like to use this for multi-application work, so I am not as worried if it doesn't have enough horsepower for dual screen games.

I found the fix. I wasn't searching on the right terms! I combined the registry directions from here - http://www.hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1032412520&postcount=22 with the model specific EDID settings here - http://www.hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1032078646&postcount=1244

1. Open Regedit by going to Start->Run and typing regedit and clicking OK.

2. By clicking the proper + signs (arrow symbols in Vista) and expanding the "folders", navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\

You should see several folders that look something like {42cf9257-1d96-4c9d-87f3-0d8e74595f78}. This string of numbers and letters is called a GUID. You need to open each one of those GUIDs and look for the one that contains subfolders "0000" and "0001" which in turn contain the subfolders "Display", "Settings", "Uninstall", and "VolatileSettings". The GUID containing all these folders is the current GUID. This is random for every machine so this is why you have to find it yourself.

3. Under the current GUID, right click the "0000" folder and select "Copy Key Name". (We don't need to worry about the "0001" folder as it is just a mirror of the "0000" folder).

4. Open Notepad and paste the key you just copied. Put square brackets around it and insert a line at the very top that says REGEDIT4.

5. Add a line at the bottom and copy and paste the following text into it (only the first line).
Code:
"OverrideEdidFlags0"=hex:1E,6D,3F,56,00,00,FF,FF,04,00,00,00,7E,01,00

This override code is for LG L246WP only. Don't try on another monitor.

6. Go to File-Save As, change Save As Type to "All Files", and name the file OverrideEDIDFlags.reg (the name isn't important but the .reg extension is).

7. Double click the OverrideEDIDFlags.reg file you just created and say Yes to add it to the registry.

8. Restart and everything should be working as advertised.
