I am currently using a Dell 2405fpw. I mainly play RPG and some FPS games. Nothing professional.

Contemplating between a 30 inch display:

Dell U3011
HP ZR30W
Dell 3007wfp-hc
LG W3000H-bn

or

3 24" monitors running Nvidia 2D surround like the following (1920x1200):

HP ZR24W
Dell U2410
Asus VW266H

Thoughts or suggestions? Any other monitors i should be looking at?

Thanks.

Im currently running 3 24" 1920x1200 samsung syncmasters in portrait and I love them for gaming. If I had to go back and choose again I dont think I would change anything. As for other monitors for this type of config, im not sure. I had two of the 2443bwt's already so I said F it, and grabbed a third. They were a bit overwhelming for me in landscape mode because of the massive horizontal viewing area but thats all preference. Good luck!

30" displays would be a little too expensive. Unless you know of a good deal somewhere?

Trying to keep the cost close to $1000.00. Will pay a little more for better screens, but trying to stay close to that number.

3 u2410's will be about 1140-ish. I'm not sure if it'l go down more though.

A lot of people seem to be going with the 20" p X 30 " l x 30" p

If you had this in mind, you could pick up the 30" and buy the 20's later on. I'm thinking about going this route personally.

I would have to vote for a multi-monitor setup simply because that is what I use at home and at work for the longest time and trying to use a SINGLE monitor, regardless of resolution, is painful to me.

Which 30" inch and 20" inch displays you thinking about?

Any of the 30" you listed in your first post. Followed up by matching 20" displays, depending on what the 30" is.

For example, get the 3007 wfp now, and pick up two 2007's in a couple months and put them in portrait. They are MUCH cheaper and you can often find them used. That way you'll have the benefit of gaming on a high resolution monitor, yet still retain multi monitor functionality.

I ended up getting the HP ZR30W monitor. Going to hold off a bit and either find some cheap 30" used/refurb monitors or wait and see if NVidia Surround will support PLP.

Looking forward to seeing the new monitor.

I have a HP ZR30W and love it.... I came from having 3x23" monitors in Eyefinity which I really didn't care for because of the lack of support most games.

I am sure you will love it, it is a great monitor
