I am going to be building a new water cooled rig and can't decide on my card. I've always been an ATI fanboy. I've gone from a 3870x2 to a 4870x2 to my now 5970 and have loved them all.
The problem with the 5970 is that although it's a beast, it can't max out everything in eyefinity. On monitor it can chew anything up and spit it out, but 3 at full resolution it tends to drop and I have to back it down a little.
So I'm looking for a setup that will allow me seamless performance. I was thinking about waiting for the 6990 and getting two of them, but now I'm wondering If I should buy 3 6970s...
Or should I go Nvidia? I know nothing about Nvidia and it's surround performance. So I have little opinion on that.
Whichever route I go, they'll be water cooled.
I'm looking on spending no more than 1500 on the cards. Preferably around 1200-1300.
Thanks
P.S.
I'm not exactly sure what system they'll be going in yet, but it'll definitely be packed with an I7 over 3.6ghz and a few SSDs and the appropriate mobo and PSU depending on the GPU choice.
