3 WAY NVIDIA SLI

I guess i dont know why anyone would want tri SLI but thats just me.

So what you can run Crysis at max at 1920+ resolutions with 100FPS its going to sound like ass with onboard audio. To me gaming is like movies the video and sound are the whole package and if ones not up to par it ruins the experience. To me its like having a $10,000 surround setup hooked up to a 13" TV.

Here it didn't even break 20FPS in "Crysis" @ Very high and was beat by two Ultras @ 1280x-

Who wants to spend that amount of cash for that amount of lack luster performance. Hopefully someone will produce something that can tame that game @ Very high settings and right now this doesn't look to be it.

As far as playing all High goes, I can do that on a single overclocked GTX.

Currently the Crysis engine does not properly support alternate frame rendering (multi GPU). The first patch should address this and we should see the game performance scale properly with additional GPUs.

Really? What leads you to believe these cards can do better? They do just fine in every other title out there. Crysis looks significantly better than all the other titles out there. Lets also not forget that Crysis has to deal with more physics calculations, more polygons, larger textures, and considerably larger maps and special effects. I think we are lucky the 8800GTX and similar cards are powerful enough to run the game with medium or high settings at 1600x1200/1680x1050 and keep the game playable. I don't think Crysis is poorly written or coded, I think it is a matter of it being too demanding for current hardware. Same thing was true of Far Cry which can now be run at any settings with ease if the system is high end enough.

so yr telling me that the game(Crysis) & drivers are fully optimised for a 8800 , 8800 sli & tri-sli?

IMHO Crysis needs alot of work. I get different performance everytime i play the dang thing.

Crysis does not work well with SLI and alot of people report getting lower FPS in SLI over a single card. So wait for the crysis patch then wait for realistic benches.

as an owner of a gtx, on 1920- i say

Crysis needs a F****** Patch from Crytek, and drivers updated from nvidia

these cards are capable of much more...if only the software part was done right.dammit!

with 169.25 my performance went waaaaaay higher. I can play at 1280x768 @ all very high dx10 with about 25fps, which is quite playable.

Whats with the hostile and bullying SLI defending mentality  Not everybody needs to like the concept you know.

Tri-SLI concept is not sound in my mind, but thats just my opinion. After seeing what Nvidias Quad SLI support was like, Iam not easily convinced that this Tri SLI will work any better. Seems like desperate attempt from Nvidias part to stomp ATIs CrossX technology, which is feature wise superior to Nvidias Tri-SLI.

No the game obviously isn't, but that doesn't mean that the game is poorly coded or even that the performance will improve significantly with driver releases. My money says it won't. Not for single card systems anyway. Yes there is potentially a significant increase in SLI and Tri-SLI performance, but I don't see this game being able to be run on any current system at 1920x1200 in high or very high settings even with 3-Way SLI, a quad core CPU and whatever else you could throw at it for now.
