Hi, I am currently running eyefinity with 2 6970's in crossfire, my brother wants to build a computer but wants to use Nvidia as he belives they makes better cards, the question is will two 570's run three monitors well? and if so at what resolution can he expect to see a loss in performance due to less memory? Should I convince him to go the 6970 route like me or is he on to somthing with two 570's? Thanks in advance.

is he planning to run 3 small monitors (upto 1920x1080) or bigger monitors (1920x1200~2560x1600)?

if it's small monitors, then 570s would do just fine but for the same budget, 6970 will be better off. running cooler, better cf ratio, and capability of handling bigger monitors...

I would not recommend 2 GTX 570s for 3x 24inch surround gaming or above as they only have 1.2 gb of vram. I like anti aliasing and stuff in my games. If he can live without that then I guess they're okay but when games start taking more vram in the near future his system may come to a crawl in nv surround and he'll be stuck wondering why he bothered upgrading at all, let alone paid $300 for each of his now 2 GTX 570s that can't game in his nv surround setup.

If your brother is that set on nvidia ten tell him to get 2 GTX 560Ti 2GB cards as they should be fine for up to 3 24 inch screens with decent graphical settings.

2 6970 in cf yield close performance to 2 gtx580s in sli in 2560x1600 i believe...
